Summer
- Surrounded by the magnificent Dachstein-Tauern mountain range, our farmhouse lays on a little hill. From our farm, you easily reach the walking and hiking paths. Ramsau is also a great place for horse riding, but also for many other activities such as Nordic walking, running and biking. In Ramsau-Schildlehen, there is a beautiful natural swimming lake and the public swimming pool ('Badeparadies') is attractive for everybody.
- If you are staying with us at the right time of year, you can collect mushrooms and berries near the farmhouse.
Children will have a lot of fun in Ramsau. They can discover a fairy tail path, many kid's excursion destinations, a children's climbing path or the natural educational trail.
- At our house, there is always a lot to do. Enjoy the nature around the farm with many animals, such as cows, sheep, goats, ponies, ducks, chicken, rabbits and cats.
Hiking and Walking
- Ramsau offers plenty of places to walk, hiking through out the year. Routes are
well marked and safe from cars making them suitable for children.
- Routes vary in
difficult and duration, however sign posts usually mention distance and time.
- Once you reach you destination whether be a mountain top and splendid
lake there always somewhere to eat. Enjoying homemade cakes and hearty Austrian
cuisine.
Mountain Biking
- There
are plently of routes on the plateau of ramsau to follow. All routes are clearly
signposted.
- Ramsau
has both extreme and easy paths to follow, suitable for all ages while most
routes are away from roads. Mountain biking is a sport the whole family can
enjoy in Ramsau.
- Mountain
bikes can be rented locally in Ramsau Kulm or Ramsau Ort. Bikes tend to be in
excellent condition and well suited for the terrain.n summer many mountain
hütte are open, so you can stop and have lunch in the great outdoors.
- The
Planai cable station in Schladming allows you to bring your bike up to the top
of the mountain. There you can bike in the cool air and the beautiful scenery.
Climbing
- The Dachstein south face has a height of 1000 m one of the
most imposing rockfaces of the Alps, climbing up the wall is only
recommended by extreme climbers. However there many more routes to
enjoys from every level of experience.
- Dachstein is a
wonderful place to climb, just ensure you always remember to be equiped
with the right clothing and protection (helmet, harness, etc..).

Horse Riding
- You can enjoy horseback riding through out the seasons in
Ramsau. In winter there are special snow paths for horses and
horsesledges.

Paragliding
Paragliding is a popular pasttime on the surround mountains of Ramsau. The
company Aufwind provide not only solo flights but also for the ultimate
excitement without any previous experience, you can take a tandem flight. Check

Tobogganing in Summer & Winter
The Hochwurzen slope has a permanant toboggan run of 7 km. It is floodlit, so
it's ideal for night sleding. Toboggans can be hired at valley station. Open
daily during cable-car operating hours. Evenings from Monday to Saturday, 7.30
to 10 p.m. Cable-car is in operation and toboggan run is floodlit until approx.
01.00 a.m.
On a real wood toboggan you shoot down from the 1900m high
Hochwurzen peak towards the valley. 7km of fun for the family is guaranteed.
